In order to apply against Post Office Postman, Mail Guard, MTS Recruitment 2017, the students must have passed at least 10th Standard i.e. Matriculation Exam from a recognized education board. While the students must have obtained special qualification after 10th Class to apply for Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant and Stenographer, Typist posts. Age Limit:

The Age of student must be at least 18 years.

Upper Age of student must not exceed 27 years for Postman, Mail Guard, MTS Posts and 30 years for other posts.

Relaxation in Upper Age Limit will be provided to Reserved Categories students as per Government of India Rules.

Educational Qualification for Post Office Recruitment 2017 :

The student must have passed following qualification to be eligible to apply for Post Office Recruitment 2017:

  • 10th Class Matriculation from a government recognized education board.
  • Stenography Course from a recognized institute.
  • Required Typing or Shorthand Speed on Computer (for Stenographer and Typist posts).
  • Basic Knowledge of working on Computer i.e. Windows, MS Office, Internet, Email and Others.

Application & Exam Fee:

The students must pay Application Fee of Rs.100/- for Processing Charges of Registration.

In addition, the students are required to pay Exam Fee of Rs.400/-.

The students of SC, ST, PWD/PH and Ex-Serviceman Categories are Exempted from payment of Exam Fee, but all students of categories will have to pay the Application Fee.

The Application Fee and Exam Fee must be deposited by Cash through Challan at any computerized post office having E-Payment facility.

Selection Process:

The students will be selected on the basis of their performance in following stages_

  • Written Exam (Aptitude Test)
  • Skill Test (Typist Test, Stenography Shorthand Test)
  • Merit List based on Written and Skill Test Marks
  • Verification of Documents
  • Personal Interview and Final Selection

Pay Scale:

After appointment in Postal Department, the student will be paid under the Pay Scale as follows_

From Rs.5200/- to Rs.20200/- with Grade Pay of Rs.2000/2400/2800/- per month.

However, under upgraded pay scale system, the student will be paid from Rs.21700/- to Rs.69100/- per month.

The Age of student must be in between 17/22 years and 42 years.
